We understand that a real passion for water is an essential quality for this training. We also acknowledge experience and time in the outdoors count for a lot. Activities like kayaking, surfing, lifeguarding and climbing massively increase your potential to become a competent coasteer guide, so jump in, take the next step and enroll on this training course delivered by the UK & Ireland's most experienced Coasteering providers.


It is essential that Coasteer guides have technical knowledge, first aid skill, and physical capabilities to ensure any coasteering session they lead or assist on is safely managed. This 2-day intensive course is designed to ensure you have a solid foundation in all of these.


This course run in accordance with the National Coasteering Charter (NCC) guidelines and the National Water Safety Forum's best practice guidance, will equip you with the essential skills to confidently enter the world of commercial coasteering, as you will be learning from highly experienced, industry experts, paramedics, and rescue boat crew.


The course will cover group leadership, managing a group, delivering a safety brief, route planning, rescue, incident management as well as coasteering specific first aid and basic life support. On successful completion candidates will be equipped with the essential skills and knowledge that combined with site-specific training, enable them to confidently run coasteering sessions.


In addition, upon completion of this course, we guarantee you an interview and shadowing hours at Cornwall's leading coasteering providers as well as, individualised career development plans.

Prerequisites for this course:



  • Be a minimum of 16 years of age

  • Be able to swim 100 metres comfortably.

  • Be medically and physically fit

  • Experience of participation and delivery of adventurous activities.




  • A recognised surf lifesaving qualification such as SLSGB or RLSS NVBLQ or equivalent.

  • Commercial Coasteering experience.
